Scaffolding Comes Down as Chalk House Moves Closer to Welcoming Its First Residents

At Chalk House, two of the beautifully restored Victorian villas have now been revealed, marking a significant milestone as the neighbourhood moves closer to completion. The transformation of these historic buildings is now visible for all to see, offering a glimpse of the character and quality that will define this unique coastal neighbourhood.

With the show home launch launching at the end of September, teams across the project are working at pace to prepare for welcoming prospective residents. The first occupancies are expected from November, bringing new life back to these landmark buildings and the wider community.

Progress across the site continues at an impressive rate. Externally, significant landscaping works have been completed, including paving, bike store infrastructure and communal outdoor spaces.

Inside the buildings, the homes are taking shape. Apartments within the 39 have now reached an advanced stage, with decoration completed to upper floors, kitchens installed, carpentry works finished and floor finishes well underway. Communal areas are also being fitted out, bringing the vision for the building to life.

Across the remaining villas, major structural and restoration works have been completed, including the rebuilding of bay windows, installation of new stonework to the front elevations, staircase installation and extensive cladding works. Mechanical, electrical and interior fit-out activities continue throughout the development as teams progress towards handover.

As Chalk House enters its final stages, the unveiling of the Victorian villas serves as a reminder of how far the project has come. Combining restored heritage buildings with thoughtfully designed contemporary homes, the development is creating a neighbourhood that celebrates its history while looking firmly to the future.
