Grifo Developments in Kent Life Magazine

We are delighted to announce that our latest project has been featured in Kent Life magazine’s interiors section, recognising the beauty of considered design at Sea Road, Westgate-on-Sea.

Honouring Heritage, Shaping Modern Living

The goal of this project was to create something truly unique — a coastal home that feels both rooted in heritage and perfectly attuned to modern life. Inspired by Westgate-on-Sea’s legacy as a Victorian seaside resort, the early concept stemmed from a vivid image: holidaymakers in striped bathing suits stepping into the sea.

“We took inspiration from the striking bathing suits worn by Victorian swimmers and applied the patterned stripes within the bath and shower rooms to create spaces which hopefully bring joy to the end user’s daily routine.”
— Sharan Elliott, Senior Interior Designer, Ademchic

This spirit of quiet eccentricity and heritage runs throughout the interiors. From bold stripe motifs in the bathrooms to tall skirting boards, curved ceiling features, and shaker-style kitchen fronts, every detail pays homage to the building’s origins. Though not formally listed, the architecture was treated with the same care as a heritage restoration, with tactile finishes, elegant colours, and refined joinery reinstating both proportion and character.

The colour scheme was drawn directly from the Kent coastline, designed to resonate with renters who value thoughtful, timeless design. The result is a home that blends practicality with aesthetic depth, balancing durability with a sense of retreat.

At the heart of this achievement is our close collaboration with interior specialists Ademchic, who bring expertise in Build-to-Rent interiors that are both high-end and practical.

“Grifo Developments shares our passion for creating spaces that are as thoughtful as they are striking. By crafting a singular design language across interior branding and marketing, we’re reinforcing Grifo’s brand identity while designing environments that honour the past and elevate the experience of modern living.”
— Karolina Adamczyk, Director, Ademchic

At Grifo Developments, our ambition goes beyond building rental properties. Projects like Sea Road embody our commitment to creating homes that are both beautiful and functional — a sanctuary where heritage and modern life meet in harmony.
