Elliott House – Construction Begins

Following a period of careful planning and preparation, construction is now underway at Elliott House.

The site on Reculver Road has a long and varied history, most notably as a former convalescent home for railway workers in the early 20th century. Over the past year, our focus has been on understanding the building’s condition, responding to its heritage value and setting out a practical plan for its future. That groundwork has allowed us to move confidently into the construction phase.

Initial works are now in progress across the site. Groundworks have commenced, including the formation of the new car parking area and the excavation and preparation of foundations for the new bungalows. These early stages are an important step in establishing the layout of the development and setting levels across the site.

Alongside the new build elements, the existing Elliott House remains central to the scheme. All works are being carried out with care to protect the building’s fabric, ensuring that its character is retained as the wider development progresses.

As construction continues, the site will begin to change more visibly over the coming months. We’ll be sharing regular updates as key stages are reached and the project moves forward.
